The first church of the New Testament was started in an upper room. So was our humble beginning, in an upper room in Bhandup (W), Mumbai in 2006 headed by the faithful shepherd Pr. Livingston Zechariah who leads the flock diligently in truth and in spirit. God has been faithful to us since the day of our beginning and has guided us thus far. In the span of few years, the church has witnessed tremendous growth spiritually and a large magnitude has been blessed. All glory and honor to God alone.
The church was able to upscale from Tamil and Malayalam service in the morning to English service added in the evening for the benefit of many. Messages are translated as per the necessity and the worship is multilingual emphasizing the unity in Christ among the diversity. Now we have a Tamil church, a Malayalam church, and a Hindi church, each catering the spiritual need as per the language of the flock. This helps in individual undivided attention in a language the people are familiar and comfortable with. Our church ministry has also expanded to online ministries with various live programs.
The word of God is the base of any ministry. To feed the people with rich and nutritious spiritual food, we have two Bible studies per week. This helps the believers to grow in the word of God and be used in a mighty way for building the kingdom of God. Our Bible studies are made more interesting by the quiz conducted each week on the topic delivered the previous week. We have active participation from many.
Talented youth are identified and are utilized in worship and various activities of the church thereby defeating any snares of the devil that could trap them. They also actively participate in the media ministry and other social events. Praise be to God for the talented and smart youth of the church.
Making the believers fishers of men is a need for every church. To encourage and teach the believers in evangelism, we have dedicated Sundays known as “OIKOS SUNDAYS” where soul winning and bringing new souls to church is emphasized. Oh! what joy in heaven when one person repents and gets added in the kingdom of God.
Apart from the regular services, praise and worship, we have other ways to combat the devil as well. Prayer rides are arranged where we ride around the city praying for the repentance of the city and the people. Spiritually armed, we ensure that prayers reach all the areas of our city. Has not God promised that he will give us all the places that we set foot on? We are praying for the souls from all the places where we ride through. Similar prayer walks are undertaken around the neighborhood of each believer’s hours, praying for the people living in that area.
